The Phase V GOLD Initiative will

1. 向使用GOLD指导原则的所有国家和地区推荐GOLD的治疗和预防方针。
2. 提高医疗社区、公共卫生官员及普通公众对COPD大众健康问题的认识。
3. 降低COPD的发病率和死亡率。为此，GOLD宣传委员会拟向全世界60个国家推行该病诊断和治疗有效程　　序的执行和评价行动。
4. 促进对COPD流行病学和病原学的研究。
5. 通过GOLD科学委员会继续对科学文献的监控,为COPD世界范围内的治疗提供科学基础。

The Phase V GOLD Initiative will
1. Recommend effective COPD management and prevention strategies for use in all countries utilizing the GOLD guidelines.

2. Increase awareness of the medical community, public health officials, and the general public that COPD is a public health problem.

3. Decrease morbidity and mortality from COPD through implementation and evaluation of effective programs for diagnosis and management of disease through national launches in 60 countries worldwide through the GOLD Dissemination Committee.

4. Promote study into COPD epidemiology and etiology.

5. Continue to monitor the scientific literature to provide the science base for COPD management worldwide through the GOLD Science Committee.
